Amanda-Knox Caveney

Ballet Instructor

Amanda Knox began her dance training at the age of four at the Ann Parsley School of Dance in Clinton Township.  Further training ensued with Renee Wood at the Metropolitan Dance Center and at age 12 she began advanced work under Cornelia Sampson at the Rochester School of Dance and Michigan Ballet Theatre.
This subsequently led Amanda to attend various summer intensive programs, including The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Burklyn Ballet Theater, American Ballet Theater and School of American Ballet, official school of The New York City Ballet.

In 1996, following her second summer attending SAB, Amanda was invited to attend the school on a year-long scholarship.  In the fall of 1997, Amanda was selected to join the New York City Ballet as an apprentice and seven months later was promoted to the Corps De Ballet. While in New York, Amanda received Jesus Christ as her personal savior and attended the Times Square Church on Broadway under the pastorship of David Wilkerson.

In 2000, Amanda left New York City Ballet and moved to Michigan where she pursued her BA in English at Oakland University and began teaching at Kensongton Community Church School of Dance and advanced ballet at the Rochester School of Dance.  Currently, Amanda is a member of Woodside Bible Church in Troy, MI -- Doug Schmidt pastor.
