Congratulations!
“Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true”… Leon J. Suenes
PROVERBS 18:16 “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men (KJV).
When she was only six (6) years old, floating across the floor in a tour jete entournant, I knew that this “baby dancer” was destined for greatness. She didn’t miss a beat as her running pas de bouree moved through the three steps allowed with aggression, clarity, musicality and artistry. Head held high with a smile that brightened the entire stage, she finished her dance with the technicality and attitude of a professional in the making. A ballerina was born!
Eleven years later, her moment has arrived. God has been faithful to the desire of her heart and Jennifer Bobo has started her dream of a professional ballerina!
So, on behalf of our Board of Directors, The Link School of the Arts and The Link Ballet, please join me in congratulating Jennifer who was awarded a full scholarship to the Texas Ballet Theater School in Fort Worth, TX. In addition, Jennifer was offered a 33 week full-time paid Company Trainee position. Jennifer will be taking daily classes and rehearsing with the Company during the day, while studying extensive pointe and pas de deux classes in the Professional Division of the School in the evenings.
Texas Ballet Theater, a company on the national level, is under the direction of world renowned artistic director and choreographer, Ben Stevenson, O.B.E. Mr. Stevenson, who developed and led Houston Ballet to its current international status and which boasts a $20 million operational budget, retired from Houston Ballet in 2005 and was asked to lead Fort Worth Ballet later being named Texas Ballet Theatre.
Starting with a handful of dancers and less administrative staff, the company has an extensive classical and contemporary repertoire, large faculty and staff, new dance facilities and 40 full-time company dancers on the roster for the fall 2012-2013 session. Jennifer will start in her new position Monday, August 27th, 2012.
And, if it couldn’t get any better, Jenny took her Cecchetti Diploma examination on Saturday, June 16, 2012 and received a Highly Commended result — all of this – just a month past her 17th birthday! We are extremely pleased and proud of Jennifer and her accomplishments, who has always had a deep drive for the art of ballet and has pursued it with a great deal passion and hard work.
It PAID OFF!
God bless you, Jenny, as you pursue the “dream” that God has placed in your heart to honor Him in the dance of your life. We love you and will miss you greatly, but are so thankful for this opportunity that our GREAT Holy Spirit has given you!
Blessings Abundantly!
Betty Mitchell
Director
